Our Soup Mixes

While all our soups are meals in a bag, some have suggestions on them of items to add and we have added a few more on their descriptions pages.

We do not use meat in any of our soups for safety reasons.  Several have chicken and beef soup bases for delicious flavour.

Our soup mixes can be made on the stove, in a slow cooker (they must be brought to a boil for at least 20 minutes if you are choosing the slow cooker) and in an instant pot.

It is totally up to you whether you add extra items or not.  The soups are delicious with just added water (and some with added tomatoes).  Adding leftover vegetables and meat just make it more delicious and makes even more portions!

We have had many folks tell us about some of the interesting items they have added to their soups to make them even more unique – fresh caught fish, wild boar, venison, kangaroo, bear (yes, I said bear!) and adding more vegetables of their choosing.

The possibilities are endless!  We would love to hear how you get creative with our mixes!   We are always experimenting with new flavours too!

Bean Tips

To soften the beans in our bean soups and make them cook a bit faster, you can soak them in water overnight (make sure you cover with about 2 inches of water over the top of the beans) or do a quick soak.  Pour off the water used to soak and add new water and ingredients following directions on package.

To do a QUICK SOAK:  Add beans to a pot, cover with water and 2 inches more.  Bring to a boil for 7 minutes.  Turn off heat and cover and leave for an hour.  Drain and add new water and ingredients according to recipe.

Bon appetit!
